DYNAFLAKE
CLEANERS FOR HOT MELT ROLLER COATERS

Dynaflake is a fantastic cleaner for hot melt roller coaters. It is designed for the cleaning of reactive hot melt adhesive
from roll coaters and laminating equipment.

GENERAL:
Dynaflake will quickly and easily combine with melted adhesive and lower its viscosity, thus allowing easy cleaning of rolls. It can also be used to season new rolls before the introduction of adhesive and because of this, Dynaflake may leave a protective residue on rolls after cleaning. This residue provides a barrier between the roll and adhesive, which reduces the build-up of cured material on the roll. The residue will not affect newly introduced adhesive when the coater is started up again, but may be wiped off easily with Dynasolve CU-6 if desired. If adhesive buildup occurs, it can be removed by Dynasolve CU-6 or Dynasolve CU-5 gel. There has been evidence that using Dynaflake and Dynasolve CU-6 or CU-5 Gel as part of a regular cleaning process can extend the life of rolls by as much as 30%.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE Always follow the directions given by the manufacturer of the laminating equipment in question.  The following are general guidelines, which should follow most manufacturers’ recommendations.

1.    Place a paper trough under the rolls being cleaned in order to catch the adhesive being removed from the rolls.
2.    Bring the rolls together, then reverse them to allow most of the adhesive to be squeezed from the rolls.
3.    Introduce about one quart-size scoop of Dynaflakes to the area between the rolls, applying more toward the two ends where the adhesive tends to collect.
4.    Run the rolls forward for about five minutes.  You will notice the Dynaflakes quickly melting and combining with the adhesive thus pulling it from the roll into the area between the rolls.
5.    Reverse the rolls again to allow the combined adhesive and Dynaflakes to empty into the paper trough.
6.    Repeat steps 3-5 at least 2 more times, but concentrating the bulk of the Dynaflake introduced to the areas on the roll that appear to have the most adhesive.
7.    The roll is clean when the appearance of the roll turns from shiny to dull.
8.    If cured buildup occurs or rolls or is present on other parts of equipment, such as guidebars, use Dynasolve CU-5 gel  or Dynasolve CU-6.
9.    If the glue in the machine has been left in too long and begins to cure or “ball-up”, it will be necessary to use Dynasolve CU-5 or Dynasolve CU-6 for cleaning.  Dynaflake is for removal of uncured hot melt only.
